At his very first karate competition, Nicholas performed this weapons form with bo staff (He named the form Universal IX)...He did not place in this competition (he did however do extremely well ) as he was up against more experienced and much older kids..
He however won first place with his extreme form (he named Universal 10) and won second place in point fighting in his division and experience.
